This follows the announcement of a roadmap to restore peace to Dagbon in the Northern Region.

The Committee of Eminent Chiefs led by the Asantehene resolved recently that the Abudu and Andani royal families should perform the funeral rites of the late Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai IV from 14 December 2018 to 28 December 2018; and the funeral rites of the late Ya Na Yakubu Andani II from 4 January 2019 to 14 January 2019.

Representatives of the Abudu and Andani royals led by the Northern Regional Minister, Mr Salifu Sae-eed, have already arrived in Accra for the meeting.

Two prominent personalities in Dagbon, Ibrahim Mahama, a legal practitioner and the Tolon Regent, Major Abubakari Sulemana (rtd) are part of the delegation.

The Chief Imam of the Shia Muslim community in Ghana, who doubles as the Northern Regional Zongo Chief, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Dalhu, as well as Sheikh Baba Dua, Sheikh Abubakar Tanko and Sheikh Aswad are representing the clerics.

Nine out of eleven Metropolitan and District Chief Executives of Dagbon are to witness the meeting.
