Ghana Grid Company limited (GRIDCo) has written to the facility Distribution Service (PDS) to request for load shedding from eight.00hrs to eighteen.00hrs every day on affected PDS MV/LV lines.
The request for load shedding on PDS MV/LV lines was necessary due to the diversion of 330KV Aboadze-Volta cable at Pokuase to facilitate the interchange construction works being undertaken by the department of Urban Roads at Pokuase.
In a letter cited by GhanaWeb on March fourteen, 2019, GRIDCo noted that the work was originally planned to be completed by March fourteen, 2019, however some challenges encountered by the contractor throughout the execution of the work has created them ideate that the work are going to be completed by March 19, 2019.
“We, therefore, want to request you to increase the outage on affected PDS MV/LV lines within thepassageway to March 19, 2018. The outage ought to be from eight.00hrs to eighteen.00 every day over the amount,” the statement reads on.
Some components of the capital were hit by total blackout popularly called ‘dumsor’ for three consecutive days once the takeover PDS.
According to them, this was thanks to some technical challenges upstream at their Mallam and Graphic Road Bulk provide purpose (BSP) and it’s affected power outages among the Western and therefore the Central components of Accra and that they assured that power are going to be reconditionedin real time the technical challenges are resolved.
