The authorities in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno country have apologised to a Covid-19 patient after it changed into erroneously announced that she had escaped from an isolation centre in the city of Maiduguri.
She was 1 of 2 patients authorities said had fled from a treatment centre. The other patient was traced to his residence in Maiduguri where was seen in a “critical” condition. He is undergoing treatment in hospital.
The autorities apologised to the supposedly runaway patient when she turned herself in the hospital.
In a statement, Borno state government stated it emerged the affected person turned into now not informed that she had tested positive for the virus and had to be in isolation.
