Ridge Health workers cash in on PPE amid corovirus: ‘Trading in on COVID

Anas Aremeyaw Anas and BBC Africa Eye undercover research have found out that an employee in Ghana’s hospitals have been selling vital personal protective equipment (PPE) for self gain.

“More than 2,000 medical persons in Ghana have been contaminated of coronavirus,” Anas stated in the documentary.

Ghana has faced a serious need of PPEs along with visors, face mask and bodysuits.

The undercover research indicates how a few medical  persons are profiteering on the fee of their colleagues who’re being uncovered to danger.

Thomas Osei and Divine Kumodzi, employees of the Greater of Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital), were caught up selling (PPEs) which were meant for the frontline workers.

The two employees of the hospital were spotted  diverting the PPEs fo ther self gain.

Africa Eye investigators perfectly negotiated and trade a PPE buying deal worth $450 with Thomas Osei in the workplaces of Ridge Hospital however he denies the allegation, saying the object were his personal property.

Divine Kumodzi, on the other hand, made a fortune from trading PPEs which was made by the hospitals itself. Ridge sanatorium produces some PPEs to increase the once recieved from the authorities and different establishments and persons.
