I do not produce music for popularity or money – Zapp Mallet

Honoured virtuoso Ghanaian recording engineer and record producer, Emmanuel Mallet, popularly called Zapp Mallet, has stated he does not make music for the popularity or money.

In an interview with Blakk Kobby on the 3FM Reggae Vibes, the honoured producer insisted that producing music was borne out of his love for music and not money or popularity.

The legendry producer who has labored with very famed and high-profile artistes like Kojo Antwi, Daasebre Gyamena, Irene LoganReggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Obour, claims the fame and money are addition in the song commercial enterprise which he as a producer does not look at.

He add up he does not make song because he wants the song to be a successful song or win an award but does his music due to the love and ardor for the song.

Zapp Mallet is identified as one of the pioneers of the Hiplife class back in the early 1990s in Ghana. The recording engineer has received the Ghana Music Awards 3 consecutive times.

According to him, “Every song can be successful but not every hit can be a song”. He explained that everybody can simply make a track and encourage it on social media but not all of these social media hits can be songs.

The 3FM Reggae Vibes is awarding-winning reggae show is live on 3FM 92.7 every Saturday between 4pm-6pm
